Prosthodontics
(fixed and removable prostheses)

It is possible to replace a missing tooth either permanently (crowns and bridges) or using removable methods (complete or partial prostheses). In both cases, in addition to aesthetic improvements, the goal is to recreate an adequate masticatory surface and stabilize occlusion to avoid dental shifting.

Fixed prostheses like crowns and bridges are cemented in, and look just like a natural tooth. Removable prostheses, whether partial or complete, typically replace multiple teeth. Approximately every five years, the prosthesis should be re-adapted to the surrounding tissue for improved stability and function.
